This is a photo of my first sheath with nickel silver fittings on a leather covered wooden sheath. I used the directions by Bruce Evans for a full silver sheath given at: http://www.homestead.com/beknivessite2/nssheath.html and some very valuable suggestions by Tommy McNabb at http://www.carolinaknive.com The finish is 1200 grit except for the face of the frog, which is polished.

Required some patience. I have not been able to find any silver solder that is the same color as Nickel Silver so there is a slight color difference if you look very closely at the soldered joints. If anyone know of a better solder, please let me know.

More details about the knife at my website.

Thanks,

Raymond Coon

YEEESH !! That is amazing. Knife and Scabbard...

I'll paraphrase one of the other replies... "Is that your first sheath like that ????" Some talent ! Jason.

Ray, now I know you can use an extra 20 bucks. I've got a couple knives that would look real good in that style of sheath. See you in a couple hours......

I Have the same question you had about matching up the nickel silver and the silver solder. I noticed that everyone liked your sheath(I do too) but no comments about the solder matchup. Have you found an answer? I need to do another and don't want that problem again.

Very nice!
If anyone know of a better solder, please let me know.
Check jewelry supply shops, or ask your local jeweler. They deal with that kind of problem all the time...
