Am I keeping this for any particular value or reason of importance? I forgot I even had it, picked it up when they first dropped on that first production run. I haven’t even taken it out of the shipping box yet. Figured I’d inquire to see if there is any reason to keep or preserve it before I break it open and either use it or move it along for something I’d use.

It was the cheaper of all the Magna cut offerings.
If you like the steel I'd put it to use.

You can replicate it in the custom shop for $10 more than you paid, so I doubt it's worth much more than that
unless someone just has to have the stealth run version.

If you liked it enough to buy it, use it.

That’s what I was curious about. Never know which “firsts” matter, and which ones don’t. She’ll either go in the rotation or be swapped out for something that will ;)

It is a tool. Use it.

Or sell it like I did with the ones I bought, lose money on the deal, only to make more frivolous sharps purchases that I will end up selling, lose money, buy more sharps that I don't need, sell them off.................................

:D

**Edit...I was not impressed with the ones that I bought. They were nothing special and I found the quality....lacking.

I believe that was stealth run 001, a standard brass and ebony. I have one and it's still in the box. Stealth run 005 was also a magacut 110, nickle silver bolsters and rosewood. Also still in the box. I passed on the 111 stealth run 009 but only because I farted around and the last 200 went really fast.

I have too many to rotate and actually see again for a long time. So I use what I like and that's a 110 nickle silver Ebony 420HC drop point with no nail nick. Go figure.

I'm waiting for a magnacut drop point with no nail nick in the custom shop.

This has been me for the longest time. Something new always catches our eyes. I’ve done fairly well as of late getting things whittled down to users, but I do still truly enjoy the aspect of being a caretaker of unused knives to be displayed. The user pile is still larger than I’d like to admit outside the forums 😁

I have been pretty lucky in my lifetime with Buck. Nearly all of the knives I have purchased have been very good examples, and the one or two times I’ve had to exchange I was taken care of right away with zero issues. I know it’s just a stroke of luck, but it’s just another reason I love Buck knives. And being a fairly young collector/user comparatively speaking, I’m still discovering new models and new variations I didn’t even know about (and learning the history of some of those models is just as interesting to me).

I made the same mistake with the 111, it sure is a handsome knife and I’ll kick myself a bit. But I also agree with the rotation perspective. I have enough 110’s in variations I enjoy using, that it takes quite a while to get back around to the same one to use again.
