First Sage, Which One?

Ok, I'm ready to take the Sage plunge. I've narrowed it down to the 1 or 2 and wondered what everyone prefers and or recommends.
 
My favorite so far is the sage 1. But then Ti doesn't move me like it does other people.
 
Both are superb, and you couldn't go wrong with either. I have a sage 1 and of all my knives it has gotten the most pocket time. People say the sage 1 has one of the smoothest operating liner locks and I would concur with that. I guess it comes down to price and weather you prefer carbon fiber or a Ti frame lock. Good luck.

I have a Sage 1 and really like it. The Sage 2 seems great, but I don't like how Ti scales get scratched up so easily. That's purely a personal preference. Have you looked at the Caly 3? The smooth feel of the carbon fibre is spectacular, as is the ZDP-189 steel. It's my favorite Spyderco knife with a 3" blade.

There isn't a wrong answer here, as all are great knives. Have fun!
 
I prefer the Sage 1, but most people on this forum, other than those already on this thread, it seems, will advocate for the Sage 2.
 
I'm with goodpoint above. Feel the same way. The sage 1 is just awesome in every way. Love the CF scales.
 
Sage I weighs less than II if that has any bearing on your decision.
 
The 1 and 2 are my favorites of the Sage series. I traded my Sage 2 in a trade I couldn't pass up, and had planned to just pick up another. A slightly used Sage 1 popped up here on the exchange, so I snagged it at a great price.
I like them about the same, and maybe liked the Sage 2 a little more. Both great, and i would say if money has nothing to do with it get the Sage 2. If you want to save a few bucks get the Sage 1.
 
I love both of them. Empirically, though, the Sage 1 is ergonomically superior in my view (the CF texture is just perfect - grippy but not abrasive), lighter, cheaper, and, to me, a more elegant-looking knife. Accordingly I would recommend that. If you're anything like me, you'll end up buying a Sage 2 eventually anyway, but I would start with the Sage 1.
 
Subconsciously, You knew which knife. "First Sage, Which One?". The Sage 1 has been my daily carry for the last year or so. I do own the Sage 2, it is very nice but it sits in a drawer.
 
I dont have the 2...but i love the sage 1. Im not so enamoured with frame locks seeing as how you can overextend them if they dont have a stop...titanium is soft(ish) and will wear down (ask strider owners). If you ever watch Neptune Knives channel you can see him pushing the framelock sage deeper into the tang when its already locked up. Nothing about framelocks seem to impress me. The sage liner kicks ass IMO.
