Just got the message that my small regular Sebbie came today! This is my first CRK. I got it new off eBay for $280...I can't wait to get home and check it out! I've handled the classics, but not the regular...I'm so pumped! :D :D :D

I was barely able to sleep when I was waiting for my first sebbie to come. It did not disappoint. Congrats and enjoy the anticipation. :)

You'll love it! Then you'll want more... ;)

Congrats, excellent purchase.

Now you went and done it.......

Next up a large regular with Damascus blade.:p

Awesome snag at a great price!

Well, I'm home! I'm really pleased with it. I seemed tiny at first, but I've been EDCing a BM Skirmish lately... GREAT lockup, no bladeplay, no trouble opening it, nice handle, great all the way around. I have a question and a comment, though. This was advertised as a new S30V knife, and it 1) has the old style clip (one bend), which I don't mind, its a great clip, just interesting, and 2) the inside of the handle is marked A97. When was it made? It's got me thinking I might have one of the older BG42 models.

I love it!

A97 indicates that the handle slab was made in the first quarter of 1997. Take the knife apart and see if there is a small "s" on the blade near the pivot, that will tell you if the steel is S30V.

If it is BG-42, I'd personally, would be happier. I've always liked it's performance over S30v. You'll find others hear on the forums with the same feelings. I wish Chris offered either/or for blade steel...

You can have your cake, but only eat part of it. ;)

mine is bg42-nothing holds a edge long with the type of cutting i do at work-
mine is still sharp after 3 weeks-thats a first :)

If I'm not mistaken, I believe I had read that CRK only put the (s) on the blade to denote the S-30V blade steel when the S-30V blades were initially released. After a period of time had passed, CRK dropped putting the (s) on the blades. I think you'll find that all current model Sebenza's will not have an (s) imprinted on the blade. I don't believe that you can look for the (s) to determine whether the blade is BG-42 or S-30V. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
