First a small horror story:

A forumity helped me in purchasing a Flat-Ground Large Regular Sebenza from John F Jensen. He got it around 5/6 oktober and nicely shipped them to me on the 8th. I asked him to put the box and the knife in seperate envelopes, to make sure that it fitted through my mailbox. Normally those USPS envelopes take about a week to get to Holland.
So, friday, opened the mailbox and noticed one very light USPS envelope.
First surprised that it got there so quickly, then shock & horror that there was only one...which contained only a box.

Imagine, having an empty Sebenza box on your desk!

So, saturday, no mail.... :( :( :(

But...Monday afternoon, yes, the second package arrived, with a beautifull Sebenza :D :D :D .

Well, it was worth the 3 nights bad sleep. It sure is a wonderfull knife. I'll post some pics later this week.

Great news! Kind of cool to think about our brothers on the other side of the world indulging in Sebenza's. What do you think about the flat ground blade? I've been pushing around the idea of getting one. There aren't many of them left to be had. Looking forward to the pics.:)

That's great!
Have you used your flat ground sebenza?
How do you feel?
I have two large sebenza .
One is classic sebenza ,born in 1996 ,ATS34 ,another is regular left handed ,born in 2002,S30V.
I like sebenza very much! So, I still want to order a flat ground sebenza....:p

I like the knife a lot. Already contacted Gary to have a nice sheath made. I haven't used it much, other then slicing up a Pizza  , which of course went fine. The flat ground works good.
Hopefully I can use it some more during the weekend. Pictures will take a bit longer cause I lend out my digital camera.
And, it feels great to have this knife!

Ted , thanks for your information .
It's too late ,I can't wait .I ordered one by true north knives :D .

Finally a picture of my Sebenza.
I'm not getting very good light, so maybe this weekend I'll try to get some better pictures, and hopefully one that really shows the flat-ground.

Wow you do have a beaut there! Nice one, the flat grinds have always interested me and someday I might make the plunge and get one as well...if they will still make them!

Thanks for sharing that!

Ted. I'd like to see a pic of your Sebbie sheath from Gary upon completion. He just made me a spactacular one for my large Damascus decorated Sebenza and Mnandi. You're in for a treat, his work is outstanding!:)

After some usefull discussions with Gary, I couldn't make up my mind how I wanted my sheath. So for the time being I ordered a Cordura sheath from CRK. With that I can experiment with vertical/horizontal carry, without clip or with clip etc.
Once I know for sure what I want, I will speak to Gary again.

Ted the more I look at your flat ground Sebbie, the more I like it. You have a real using piece in that blade. Many outdoor users prefer the flat ground blade. It's a real beauty.

Ted's right, it's best to think things through as to what and how you want to carry your knife, I had one of those cordura sheaths with my first Sebenza, gave it to Copfish if I remember right...twas' a long time ago and I am getting old ya know ;) But they do work well and hold the knife pretty secure and are low key looking so it is a good way to start out!
