Hi everyone, this forum has been a treasure trove of information and many great pictures that have really tempted me to purchase a Sebenza!

This will be my first ever high end (to me) knife and I'm pretty excited about owning one. I've got it narrowed down a a small Sebenza 21 due to the size of my hands but really cannot decide if I should go full titanium or the carbon fiber version.

I know this question is highly subjective and I probably can't go wrong with either but if you could have only one between the two, which would it be?

Thanks for any input!

Second the vote for Titanium. There are plenty of embellishments you can get with Titanium as well, such as Micarta or wood inserts. I prefer the rigidity of "plain" titanium, though.

I prefer titanium. Its the classic. The real deal.

Same here, I did have a tiny twitch towards the insingo but not enough. Also I looked a bit at the micarta inlays... Plane jane small sebenza 21 it was for me. I've had it for two months now and still don't feel drawn towards any other knife, including sebenza's.

Yesterday I went through the whole spyderco catalogue, I was looking a bit at delica and endura but when looking at specs I quickly realised how much better the small sebbie fit's my needs.

Titanium. The Carbon fiber version as well as the many that I customize just dont feel like a sebenza.

I would go Ti with inlays. I have a small 21 CF and while its still an amazing knife i wish i would of gotten the Ti with micarta inlays.

I am a big fan of the CF Lg 21 as it lightens up the knife significantly. For a Sm,- I would recommend full Ti or Micarta Inlays. The Sm Sebenza w/ CF scale is almost too light IMO

I think CF sebbies are as good as it gets. They don't show wear as easily, weigh much less, and IMO they look better.

I don't own either, all my Sebenzas have inlays. If you don't want an inlay I would vote Titanium as it is the classic look. As for weight, I carry mine in my back pocket and don't even notice it.

If you want a CF Sebenza, and it is in stock now, get it. You can always get the standard later, but the special runs go out of stock and stay that way for a while.

For your first I would recommend the all titanium model. It is the classic that started it all!

Agree!! Get them while you can if you can.

I got a 25 carbon fiber slab last month, and just picked up. Large 21 carbon fiber inlays last weekend.
Both are awesome knives i favor the 21 over the 25.
Mainly because of the pivot screw, the 21 you just tighten it and go, the 25 you have to adjust/play with it a little to get it rite.

I think the small is poor choice mostly because I don't find the large that big. And a large is hardly more dollars then the small. But to each their own. Ti with cf inlay would be a nice blend of classic and new coolness.

Wow I just ordered my 1st Small sebenza in the traditional plain titanium. This makes me want to order a carbon fiber one as well!
