I finally bought the knife I've always wanted...a large sebenza. I bought it today from a co-worker, and man, is it sweet! It is about fourteen years old, has anodized titanium slabs with cool blue graphics and a flawless ATS-34 blade that looks like it just came from the factory (mirror finish). Lock up on the knife is smooth and sounds like a bank vault.

I just had to share this with you guys!!!! I just need to sneak it into the house so my wife doesn't find out:D

My coworkers think I'm nuts for spending almost 4bills on a folder...beauty is in the eyes of the beholder and to me she's worth every penny!

I also called CRK to find out more about the knife, and was suprised to find out this is a collectors piece! The CRK logo has a "P" right next to it, and according to CRK this is a very rare knife...worth much more than my original purchase price (the price of a new one). CRK suggested either selling it to finance another one or keeping it put away to keep it nice. I'm not parting with it so I'm selling off my current knife collection on ebay to finance another one (maybe a regular large this time...don't know yet).

Chris Reeve Knives customer service is second to none...I called the company and a real person answered the phone...emails were FAST, courteous and professional and, what else can I say...I'm addicted now!

As for the rest of my knife collection...bye bye!!!!! Sebbie fan for life:D

If I can figure out how to post photos of my Seb, I'll put them on the site:confused:

I bet not the one you bought it from!:D

Great score BTW. The "P" on the handle stands for production. There where "H" Sebenza's, meaning hand made, then "P" when the company went to CNC machining of the handles and blade profiles. They dropped the "P" later. All Sebenzas are still about 70% hands on work. You should safe queen it for a while and get a new Seb to carry and use. I believe you still can get beadblasted screws from the factory if you ask. Your "P" Seb would probably fetch $500 or better.

Congrats.

I know knife steels have moved on, but mirror finish older sebs are just the epitome of class.

Congrats on your great find. Don't think I will ever replace my Sm. Sebenza as an EDC. If I do pick out another make to use on any given day, then I will carry two knives that day.

My sebbie just went back to CRK to have a new style pocket clip retro fitted to the knife. The one that was on it was the old one, and I don't want this beauty falling out of my pocket!

Two knives from my knife collection just sold on ebay ($245.00 two more to go) ...countdown to my Sebenza 21 is underway!

WHOOOOOO WHOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111

Congrats. My wife can't tell the difference between my small and large Sebbies. She thinks I've only got one. :) Remember, when you get another, just done show them at the same time.

Hmm. This could be why I have so many sub 3" blades with black handles. Thats what they mean when they say "The devil is in the details."
