Budget as low as possible, $50 max, preferably $20 or less. Must be very easy to use. The Spyderco Sharpmaker is nice, but at $40 it is very expensive. I could possibly use a wetstone, but I have to sharpen a ZT 0350 without damaging the blade coating. Thanks for any suggestions!

If $40 is toward the high side of the budget then its a no-brainer IF you already own a bench grinder - set of paper wheels
If not, then shop for a SM - it really is the best sharpening $$ for a small, portable, All-in-one sharpening system that can sharpen just about anything for a lot of years.

I just got a deluxe Lansky kit off of a well known auction site and it has satisfied my sharpening needs. I picked it up for 30 bucks. You won't get the same results as a WE or EP but for the price it's great. My only complaints about the system are that the rods aren't that long and I tend to bump them into the guide. But once you get used to it you can achieve hair popping sharpness:)

I reccomend the lansky crocksticks turnbox. they're dirt cheap, 15 dollars or so

I would also go with the Lansky Croc stick's. Can't beat it for a $12.00 sharpener that is also easy to use. It's no WE or Edge Pro but for the money, it's a decent system until you can afford better.

Thanks for the suggestions! But, would someone be able to translate the acronyms in madman44's post?

WE or WEPS= wicked edge sharpener
EP= edge pro

I'd have to agree for the money the Lansky Turnbox crocksticks are great. They also have a diamond model for a bit more aggressive material removal, which you should be able to purchase in addition to the ceramic set for about $18. That plus shipping you're still likely under $40 for a setup that will do quite a bit.

I don't know much about the ZT 350 but from the pictures I found it looks like a recurve. I really prefer the DMT continuous surface stones (a set of C, F, EF would be within your budget), but I'm not sure if they would translate well for sharpening the recurve. Someone with more experience with both might be able to tell you.
