I'm trying to learn some how to do some leather working, so I made my first knife sheath for my BK17.

I need to work on a few things, but I'm pretty pleased with it as a first attempt.

Now to find it a new home so I can make more without becoming a hoarder.

That Sir is one bodacious first sheath....... I have been playing around with leather for a loooong time and I would like to do as well.......

Not bad for your first sheath!! Congrats man. Leather is fun stuff to work with.

Also, Welcome to the forums man!!

Thanks. I've done some lurking - which is how I ended up needing to pick up a few more BK's. These knives are addictive.

that looks solid. Good first sheath.

I bet you'd have plenty of retention coming up no further than the middle bolt, and then it might be easier to draw. And if the mouth of the sheath wasn't square it would look a bit more organic and flow with the lines of the knife. Can't want to see where you go with your leather work. That's a WHOLE lot better than my first holster.

Nice! I would love to give leather a try. Great job. Where does one even buy leather locally?

I couldn't figure out where to get it locally, so I caught a sale from Tandy Leather. I'd love to find someone local though. Maybe in time I will.

That's a pretty solid first effort there. Good to have you aboard.

Good job on that one. Can't wait to see what you come up with next. Can't beleive that's your first.

It's 7-9 oz. veg-tanned leather. The package of the thread just says, "Waxed Thread Brown." Beyond that I don't know.
