Here's my first sheath for the first knife I made. Along with the fire steel I made for the knife.

I still need to make the belt loop, which is simple.

Very good job! Beats the heck out of anything visually that I've made.

Thanks everyone. I'm proud of the sheath and the knife. The sheath is pretty tight. I can hold it upside down and shake and the knife stays in. It was tighter before I slid the "carrier" around the sheath. My guess is that "carrier" is compressing the sheath front to back just a hair and reducing the pressure applied to the sides of the blade and the handle. It's still tight enough, though.

I think the 8/9oz leather is just a hair too thick for this size knife. 7/8oz would have wet formed better and be plenty tough enough.

The next sheath I do will be left-hand or right-hand specific, with the belt loop folded over and stitched to the back. I have discovered that the stitch groover is a damed right-handed tool. It's a little tough using it left-handed. I need to get a free-hand stitch groover.

Beautifully made.

Sorry that I should have missed the chance to see, I wish I could see the blade, too.

Thanks for sharing.

Here's the blade:

Look around in the Maker's Gallery or a few pages back in W&SS and there's a post about the knife.

Thanks for the great comments everyone!

Nice work!

Btw, how is the carrier attached to the sheath? I really like the way it looks, and thought about doing something similar to some future project.

The carrier is not stitched to the sheath. Why, I don't know. It's on there pretty tight, though. I'll probably not make a loose carrier again, though.
