Ive decided to try and use the leather from my first pair of cowboy boots on my knife sheath. I wore these boots for over 15 years. I ripped one of them on the side last year and i have kept them for their sentimental value. The other day i had the idea to use the bootleather and incorporate it into my knife sheath. The leather is pretty thin and wouldnt be suitable for the main sheath leather.
So i was thinking i could make a loveless style sheath and use the boot leather to wrap around the outside of the sheath. Id like to use rawhide to stitch it together and have some rawhide hanging off the sheath. The boots are very worn and i think it would give it a nice fronteir style look. What do you guys think?
