First Sheath: Limited Resource Edition

I finally decided to give it a shot last night. Not out of necessity; I just wondered how it would turn out.

This was really a spur of the moment decision so naturally I was ill-prepared, at least with regards to available materials.

Not willing to let the small details stand in my way, I set to work and this is what I ended up with.

I know its quite rough around the edges, the design isn't in any way original and really... it's just not much to look at.

However, this sheath has one tactical advantage (maybe) that might not be immediately obvious. ;)

Wow, i love it! I love the hole for the choil too. Is that leather or kydex? the way the light hits it, it makes it look like leather, so i would guess this makes it a silent drawing of the knife. If its kydex, then i take that back, and love the look of it. Great work
 
The material is actually something I'm 99.9% sure nobody has thought of using before. Although I'm no sheath maker, I really think I'm onto something with this.

I almost want to patent the idea!

At very least, let it be known, here on BladeForums, this is where the groundbreaking advancement in sheath making took place!

Just keep in mind, it IS just a proof of concept at this point...

You were actually VERY close otis williams, it's moldable chocolate; semisweet darkchocolate + corn syrup. Not far off from how Tootsie Rolls are made!

Iboschi, it really is delicious!

LOL (I think that's the first time I've ever typed LOL).

Call it a "Tactical DC Sustenance Survival Sheath System for Cold Weather Environments". You'll make a fortune. :p:D
 
Brilliant concept, Can you make me one for .32 mistress? I don't have a blade yet, But i'll fill it with peanut butter and maybe while i'm in an allurgic/diabetic coma someone will feel sorry for me and send me one out of sympathy or just because they have a few lying around. I promise to give it a good home.

Biggerdawg, I dunno how much sympathy you'll get but for sure I'd wanna see that on video! :p:p:p
 
How does it hold up in hot environments? If you go into mass production will you offer a lifetime warranty? :)
