I forgot this forum was here! I just posted a new knife in the Gallery and it finally hit me that not many makers post over there. Looks like I found the correct forum to post in, only took me 3 years to find it:o

Anyway, here's my first sheath and really enjoyed working with leather!

Thanks,
Dave

Love that deep red color !
No one can tell from the result that it's your first.. May we se the back ?

Nice double hamon on that blade.. what steel would that be ? What gives that greyish color to the blade ?

Whats that wild patterned wood ?

Thanks Ronnal!
I don't have a photo of the back, I do have one showing a little of the belt loop, I'll try to take a back photo later.
The steel is 1084 carbon, lightly etched in Ferric Chloride and polished.
The handle is Desert Ironwood Burl

That sheath looks to be top quality by my standards. Also, if you made the knife absoulutely unreal, very nice!

My personal preference is to always get a pouch style sheath with the knife.

That being your first and knowing you will only get better at it...well...STUNNING is all I can think of to say.
