I finally got a big enough of a wild hair up my you-know-what that I finally went out and bent a piece of kydex.

I learned a lot while making this little necker sheath, and it turned out okay. Holds the knife tightly, and hangs nice and straight.

Now, I just need to go get myself an upright belt sander and a small band saw.

The more you do, the more you learn. You can do a much without lot of equipment, but more/better tools make for easier/better results. Nice first effort.

Cool! Good first attempt. :)

I'm pretty sure I didn't let my kydex get hot enough in the toaster oven. I was a little afraid it would start to smoke and release some toxic nastiness.

As a result, I still don't think it took quite enough of a set around the knife. Even though it works fine, I like to see a bit more of the contour of the blade. I wonder if I could dip this sheath in some boiling water and get it to conform a little more around the talon hole.

Good start!
You can heat small areas up with a heat gun to make your minor adjustments.
