I'm doing my first show this weekend in Columbia at the South Carolina Sportsmam's Classic. I really don't know what to expect sales wise. Other knife makers have said that a whole bunch of "tire kickers" come through not wanting to buy anything. It usually draws somewhere around 40,000 people for the 3 days. Hech, I'll be happy if only .00125% of them take one home. If my math is right, that's 5 knives.
Wish me luck.

I wish you the best of luck. Hopefully you will sell enough knives to make the show worth having gone to. If you can, post some pictures of the knives you are taking.

First shows can be dissapointing or wild success.

A knifemaker is an artist and usually has to develop a following so I tell newcomers that the rule of thumb is it takes at least three shows to introduce yourself to the market and learn what they want.
