New things to learn and a challenge it was...

Thanks for looking :)

Thank you!

Jonathans, the window was cut out of 3/4 leather.
The inner piece that was removed was trimmed ever so slightly and the top edges were beveled.
That was glued to a piece on 8/9 that forms the front of the sheath.
The snakeskin was carefully glued to that platform, with a lot of extra (in printing called "bleed") and burnished all around.
The 3/4 window frame was trimmed and dyed along with finishing the inside edges of the window and installing the stud.
Then it was glued and stitched to the 8/9.
The snakeskin is on the same horizontal level as the rest of the sheath...
After that it was business as usual.

Paul, it is the Ontario/Bagwell collaboration Helle's Belle.
It is mucho knife...
:D

Thanks Ebbtide. I appreciate the explanation of your process. It came out beautiful.

Beautiful sheath, comparable in artistic excellence as the knife it houses. They look like they were created as a pair intentionally brought together as a set.

Thank you all.
I'm glad Jonathans understood my explanation.
:D

Great looking sheath.

Beautiful blade as well. I badly need an Ontario Bagwell myself:)

Sadly few and far between on the sales subforum. Its been a while since Ive seen one for sale and that went right away (of course).

When the OBHB's first came out I believed the steel snobs and didn't grab one right away.
Then to my surprise they were discontinued.
So I was determined to save up for the real deal Bagwell custom...
When I did that I didn't pull the trigger.... too many hobbies... couldn't put all my eggs in one basket...
The hunt turned to the aftermarket and they OBHBs were really pricey.
If one came up at a fair price it was snatched up with record speed.
At the end of the summer I got lucky and clicked on the FS section at the right moment. And... I had the money to spend.

Kinda like fishing... patience counts...

Exactly. Its a waiting game. Ill watch the forums and bide my time:)

The sheath really compliments the OB.

Everybody should have the privilege of experiencing a quality knife and a well made sheath.
