Great pics. We got our first real snow fall here today, made for great X-mas tree trimming day. BTW, still like that blade of yours....

We usually don't get much snow at all..and what we get usually comes at the end of winter closer to spring...hell it's not even winter yet and it's cold and snowy. Wonder what the rest of the winter will be like?

Thanks man I'm loving it too. My only regret is the 1/8 steel...being a fatwood addict I'm thinking 5/32 would have been better for me personally :)

Nice pics. I don't think I have ever seen snow this early either Mistwalker. Normally the few dustings we get are Jan. or Feb. Anyway, it was a cold run on the mountain here in central AL this morning. There was nothing down by my house just 4 miles away.

Odd isn't it?

Where in AL? I used to live in a town called Lanett and then down in Auburn.

Great pics mistwalker, Are you still thinking 5/32" would be better lol? You know I make a lot of my knives in that thickness too lol.

I can hardly wait to hear what you think of that sharpener too.

Nice pictures.
We got our first touch of snow up here tonight, unfortunately, it was also raining, and I was outside at work so I was not pleased.

Early snow eh? Must be that pesky global warming at it again ;)

Have fun with the DC4. The Fallkniven F1 and the DC4 are my favorite day hike combo so far. If you get a chance pick up and F1, you wont be dissapointed.

Only because of my so often using fatwood, for all else it does absolutely fine. I mean it's never let me down or anything but I'd be concerned about tearing into fatwood the way I do with the others.

Yeah, I'll be trying it out tomorrow after work.

Thanks. If I were working out in it I may have thought differently myself. Luckily I was repairing a floor and doing some drywall today :)

Definitely odd. I'm in the Birmingham area. I been to Lanett a few times and spent a lot of time in Auburn.

Ah, it's been a while since I went through Birmingham. My father is from Lanett, I have explored the whole of the Chattahoochee River valley between Lanett and Columbus/Phenix City

Yeah, that must be it lol.

I'm sure I will. I've been wanting to try out one of their knives for some time now. I really like the F1 but I am wanting an A1 so bad I can't stand it....I'll get one some day.

great pics MW... i wish it snowed here.. we are supposed to be getting dumped on by rain in the next week...:o

nice score on the DC4.... i have/use a DC3... they're great additions to any kit.. i love slim and compact design of it.. i keep mine in my pack..
Ray Mears has a cool video on youtube of him sharpening a scandi with his DC4..:)

Great pics, as usual, Mist. I remember being envious of all the green you had a few months ago, but white? That's a different story.

Just for the record, we didn't get any snow here, either, but it did happen once in 1967. The most I can say is that we have rain predicted for tomorrow: first time in about six months. Crazy-weather, huh?

Let us know what you think of that DC4. I've been curious about those.

I'm up the road in Cleveland, TN and it was a very beautiful snow. Just about perfect. Pretty on the ground but didn't shut down everything like it normally does.

Thanks for sharing the pics.

Charlie

You can buy snow

well, i was talking about the DC4 but now that ya mention it :D

taking ice/snow blocks from behind the local ice rink and throwing it into a wood chipper might make enough snow for me to throw a few snowballs at passing people. ;)
