We got our first snow of the season. Usually it comes mid October but I am not going to complain about the late snow. I hate winter. I tend to want to hibernate

You and my wife! :D She's been so depressed with cold cloudy weather it's beginning to affect me too. So far no snow in Iowa - which is a good thing. I always wait until after Thanksgiving to get my leaves up, but last year we got 4" of the stuff a week before Thanksgiving and I never got the yard cleaned up until Spring. Yikes! That was ugly.

So I'm holding my breath that the snow will hold out for a couple more weeks down here...

One thing about hibernating, if your shop is in the house or even in a warmed place, it's a great opportunity to get a lot done. I seem to make more during the winter just because I'm not outdoors fixing stuff, or digging holes for more plants.

The snow is late again as usual. Everything is wet outside mucky nothing drys, and the lakes slow to freeze. Its hard to keep the heat even in mild conditions with the wood furnace. It makes things difficult.

Bring on the snow and some steady cold to freeze things up. Then wood will dry, and the filth of the mud gone. Snow on the ground will make tracking deer easier, and once the water ways get enough ice then travel will be easier.

With enough snow I can then use the snowmobile to get around and go out and use the camp.
