Hi All,
Well, I finally made it out for the first snowshoe excursion of the year. What a treat! We are dealing with ice, slush, and rain in Toronto, but up on Blue Mountain, there is a 1.5 2ft covering of snow, with deeper drifts. I spent the morning and afternoon wandering about the woods, deliberately staying off the trails (no need for a trail when you can walk through the woods without worrying about underbrush!).
Fashionable footwear:
My JK Anniversary Knife accompanied me on this hike. It made short work of the dead, snow-laden branches that got in my way. I was a bit worried that the snow would rust the O-1 before I had the chance to get back home and dry it off, but it held up nicely. The beefy handle was easily gripped with my gloves. This is a terrific knife, and, as you can see from the patina, it has seen a bit of use!
A few shots of the winter woods:
A shot of the turn-off to the trail I have been grooming all year:
Thanks for looking. Happy trails snow-covered or otherwise to everyone!
