First SOG Purchase....I hope I made a good choice!

I just bought a SOG Pentagon Elite II SE18. I have not yet received it but I am hoping it will be a high quality knife. I have never owned a SOG product of any kind. I wanted a folder with at least a 5 in. blade and was going to buy the Benchmade LFK but could not get past the folding tail fin. I hope the locking mechanism is as good as they claim it to be.

Does anyone have this knife, if so, how is it to carry? I think I will try this as my EDC knife.

Thanks,

Mine locks up really solid, and the release is smooth (really easy to flick open and shut, bit me three hours after I bought mine) I normally wear some type of BDU pants and the pockets are deep and loose enough, regular cut jeans might pose a problem. it doesn't disappear in a pocket thats for sure, but its a huge knife. mine gets carried when out of town as its not too friendly (my friends dubbed it the pocket-sword) and not really legal here in canada. way to flickable. I can pop it in reverse grip without touching the blade. my first mid-high quality folder, and I did EDC it for a year before I picked up a SOG trident folder. only thing is the AUS-8 needs lots of TLC or it will pit corrode. so keep it clean and all should be well. hope you like yours

i've got the spec-elite II (same size, different blade) and it was WAY:D bigger than i expected... i would carry it around if i had some big pockets, in a bad area, or camping but i would definitely not use it for, say, an EDC at work or something.

hope you enjoy it!

Thanks gentlemen, I appreciate your responses. I have always wanted a five inch folder and I am not sure why, but I knew the itch would not go away unless I scratched it.
