Here are some pictures of two kitchen knives I made completely by myself. My previous knives were heat treated by others.

First one is a 3.5" paring knife made of AEB-L blade at 61 HRC with a koa handle:

Next one is a 150mm petty with a black linen micarta handle with AEB-L blade at 61 HRC as well:

These are the 3rd and 4th knives I've completed. There should be six, but two never got finished because I didn't like how well they were ground.

I'm excited that these two are completed totally in house. The heat treating process really had me freaked out, so I must thank the two knife makers who have provided help and information so freely that I will never feel like I can ever repay them. They know who they are...thanks guys. :D

Comments/questions welcome.

I love the choice of steel. I will probably be buying some aeb-l to play with becuase I heard it is like sandvik 13c26 and I absolutley love that stuff. how thick are they?

Nice knives . Look to be fnished nicely and look to be comfortable in the hand. Well done. Didn't you find doing the heat treat very satisfying?

Thanks, and yes it is very satisfying. And even more so when I got to verify that it worked!

You did your homework and it shows. Sweet!
