I purchased a Small Regular late last year off the forum here. No box or papers but looked to be in decent shape, and was when I got it. Normal wear and snail trails, but a solid knife. I took it apart and cleaned it up. Smooth, centered, locks up like expected but I kept thinking about sending it in to CRK for the "treatment". I decided to do it. Took 7 or 8 weeks. This is the 1st time I've ever sent a knife in to CRK. Glad I did. It looks like it's brand new. The 1st pic is a before shot and like I said, normal wear. The rest are after I received it back from CRK today.

Now I have to decide whether to carry it or not. The first mark is gonna kill me. After that I should be good to go.

Very nice! So they also added a lanyard pin? Is it just a small Seb21 pin?

They do add a lanyard with the correct size pin when they do a spa service, and they don't charge for that. It's a really nice something extra they do. That knife originally came with a tied on lanyard, so the new pinned lanyard isn't period-correct.

Thats pretty sweet, i knew they didnt come with one originally so i assume they have the same size lanyard hole as the 21. Service like that is one of the things that makes CRK so awesome.

Agreed on all points. As well, I like the before and after pics of their spa treatment. Outstanding.

The spa treatment was one of the main reasons I got comfortable with spending this type of money on a knife. Knowing you can send it in and they will tune it, blast it, etc is nice.

FREE, yep, free. You pay $17.50 for return shipping. But the service is no charge, nada, zip.

You just made my mind up!I'll be sending my 25 and umnumzaan in for a treatment! Thanks for the post!!

I've got the period-correct lanyard and bead (I believe) back on it. This was on it when I got it, but I removed it to send it in for service. Not sure I needed to do that but figured I didn't want to take a chance. Tied it back on this morning. Can LW or someone validate if these came with a bead originally, or just a lanyard?

They didn't re-issue you a birthcard, right?

Is reissue a separate service that you gotta pay for?

Sorry, pretty new to CRK shop services :o...but inquisitive ;)

You have to request a re issued bday card, there is no extra charge for the card.

I did request a re-issue bday card when I sent it in for service. I figured I might as well. I thought there was going to be a charge for that, but like Ajack60 said, it was a no-charge. Nothing on the invoice for it. I have a box now for it as well. I wanted a CRK cloth, allen wrench, and lube kit as well to make it complete, but I guess they are out of the cloths.

Sent my sebbie 21 in about 8 weeks ago. was told that it would be shipped back the past monday. Not sure if a tracking # will be given. still patiently waiting...the CRK staff was very polite and professional though

When I sent it in I requested a service kit (cloth, grease, tool) so I could put together the whole package and have a "complete" knife with as much of the included items as possible. Unfortunately CRK Sent me a the Small Sebenza screw kit. I called them and they apologized and immediately sent out the correct service kit. Now that I have that I've got a pretty much complete package - they even included a sticker and the CRK flag velcro patch. While it isn't all original, it feels good to have the box, cloth, grease, tool, new bday card and sticker. The leather pouch is one I had. So, it's almost NIB...

Chris Reeve Knives: no-nonsense lifetime warranty / here's the included tools to take apart your knife, and some grease etc. / if you want it to look like new again, send it in for a free spa / now you can buy some of the parts online.

The mission statement of this company just amazes me. So much more than just a knife maker. They really know how to breed loyalty, and I think it's sincere, not just a marketing ploy. Chris wanted you to be happy with his work, and he set up a company that follows that mantra to this day.
