I decided it was time to acquire a decent pocket knife for daily tasks, rather than scrounge around for a pair of scissors or whatever for object-opening duties. I ordered a few knives, and a couple arrived - first was a Sebenza 25, and that went back yesterday; nothing tangibly wrong with the thing, but I just didn't dig it that much (I found it fiddly to open and not that comfortable. Price didn't bother me - I have kitchen knives that cost more - but there you go).
A Southard showed up today and it looks nice, feels nice, is centered properly, lockup is at <50%, honestly looks as precision-built (moreso, in my humble opinion) as the Sebenza, and it's so super-easy to open either with the flippy thing or with the thumb hole! I'm very impressed. I think I'll pre-order a black one shortly so I can sneak up on cardboard boxes and terminate them with extreme prejudice.
I ordered a Domino this morning to compare and contrast. Curious about that one. I'd kinda like to try a P2, but I'll wait until an opportune moment.
Anyway, cheers Spyderco. Nice new toy.
