I've owned several Spydercos in the past but my primary focus has been traditional style slip joints. I recently had the hankering to buy a few more modern knives and one of them that I recently purchased was a Para 3 in S45VN and Black G10. My last Spyderco purchase before that was a Byrd Robin and that seems like about 8 years ago.
In the past, one of my top priorities when choosing a knife was the aesthetics. It had to look nice or I wouldn't even give it a second thought. Boy, am I glad I chose the Para 3! There really isn't anything pretty about it but holy cow, the ergonomics on this thing are as good as it gets! Or so it seems to me anyway. When I've got a grip on this knife, it seems like it would take a stick of dynamite to knock it out of my hand! It doesn't even slip or slide around. Like it's cemented to my hand until I'm ready to let go of it. This aspect alone blows the concept of aesthetics right out of the water!
The Compression Lock is very cool too.
I know I'm not telling any Spyderco fans anything they don't already know. I'm just really impressed with my new Para 3 and I felt compelled to share that.
