Hello! I am looking at converting to Spyderco...I have handled lots of them and I think it's inevitable. There are two knives I am torn between for my first Spyder: the Tenacious and the Delica 4 (combo edge). I would be using it for general EDC purposes...I do cut lots of cardboard and ropes. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Haha good to know! I was leaning towards it anyway. On the subject of blade would I be better going with the fine or combo edge? My only though on the combo is that I do cut lots of rope and stuff where the serrations are nice. I have also had experiences with crappy designed serrations. Any experience with Spyderco's serrations?

Here's what you do: Get a plain edge full flat grind Delica for your main knife (right front pocket), and then get a Spyderedge Delica for your backup (left front pocket). I've been rocking this combo for years, and all the Spydercos I've had (and it's been a lot, let me tell you), have never bested this combo for simplicity, versatility, and affordability.

delica, I prefer straight edge. Get a straight edge delica and a spyder edge of another blade, maybe one in H1 steel like the dragonfly

^^^ That. The SE Dragonfly2 can go in the bottom of your pocket, change pocket, on your keychain, etc., and it'll handle any serration-requiring cutting you'll run into.
