GF got me one for xmas this year, been messing with it for a bit this evening and I'm very impressed with the fit and finish of this knife. It also came razor sharp out of the box. There is also zero blade play, and lockup is perfect. And all this out of the China made model, I can't wait to see how much better the US models are although from what I can see there isn't much room to improve upon over the Tenacious.

I've been buying Kershaw knives almost exclusively lately, but I do believe I will be buying more Spyderco's soon :thumbup::thumbup:

That and my first Benchmade soon as well!

After not buying many for no reason, I too got myfirst Spyderco this month. A C36gp camo g10 mil. +1 on very sharp, centered and tight. This is a USA mod., specifically "Golden Colorado USA Earth" like the knife, very precise.

I was a benchmade fan for a longtime, still am. But one day I had some extra cash and decided to try the stainlesss steel delica 4 and I was hooked. Although I returned it because I felt a swisschamp would be more useful to me, a few months later I was still killing for a spyderco, to fill the void of the delica, and so I bought a caly3 in zdp-189 and carbon fiber.

Welcome, Scott.

The Tenacious and its siblings are some of the best deals available. The overall fit and finish and quality of the materials isn't something we're normally used to from China. Tenacious was also my first Spyderco knife also. It's like the gateway drug knife. ;)

The US/Taiwan/Japan made Spydies generally have better blade steel and better handle scales in comparison. The textured G-10 on the Tenacious feels a bit slipperier than the G-10 on knives from other countries. The 8Cr13MoV blade steel is certainly a good steel; it's easy to sharpen, takes one hell of a sharp edge, and it holds the edge fairly well. It's also tough and will not chip easily.

The other blade steel used in the non-Chinese knives are a step above that though.

The G-10 scaled Delica/Endura pair is a favorite of mine. I think they and the Stretch 2 in whatever form represent the best examples from Japan. The new Para 2 and the Manix 2 are my favorite two from the US. And so far, every knife from Taichung, Taiwan has had amazing F&F, using top tier materials.

Have fun thinking about your next Spydie purchase. :)

I own a Delica 4 with the vg-10 steel , and a Byrd meadowlark s.s. with 8Cr13MoV steel
I use both , usually swapping daily as e.d.c. The vg-10 is a great steel , but although a little softer the 8Cr13MoV holds up well .I would highly recommend getting a Delica 4 for your next Spydie .. Their hard to beat for the money ... Enjoy

Tenacious is a great knife value. Just can't beat the bang-for-the-buck.

Wait 'till you try out some of the other great Spyderco knives. Great stuff all around.

For the longest time I stayed away from any Spydie, as I didn't like the look of their blades or the hole. Then I decided to "just try one" for the heck of it. Now I'm a total convert, hooked on them really. I keep adding more and more. They truly are wonderful blades. My favorite knives at this point in time.

3 FFG Delica's with FRN, 1 FFG Delica with G10
1 Dragonfly with FRN, 1 Dragonfly with G10
Sage 1 and 2
Caly 3 with Carbon Fiber
1 Ladybug with H1

And so looking forward to a Native 5 and a Sage 3.

I guess you could say I've turned into a Spyder-man :D:D
