So after looking around for the right knife for me for quite a while now, I settled on the Endura Wave. Just got it today, few observations:

This is my first high end knife. WOW. If you havent experienced one or are on the fence about an expensive knfie, I will say I have never in my life felt anything so sharp. A cheapo just cannot compare, nothing else to say. I wont try to hide it, I knicked my middle finger, it was so sharp I didnt even notics until blood was literally dripping, it blew my mind.

Second- I may chosen the wrong knife for me size wise. The Endura is truly a full size folder. No question. In my persanol opinion for my hand size and for EDC use, I beleive too big. My solution? Ordered the exact same configuration in the Delica, should be here by Thursday and will compare the two then.

Spark notes- If you havent experienced a real knife before. DO IT. With that said, take caution as the blade quality will blow your mind! I am now oficially a spyderco enthusiast, thanks for all those who infuenced me on the boards!

Congrats on your new knife. I love Spyderco and have more of them than I like to admit. The Endura and Delica are truly great knives, and I agree, of the two, the Delica is my preference for edc unless I have a specific task in mind.

Congrats.. I can tell you now that the delica will be favored and it waves open much easier and smoother than the endura.. But both are great knives...

What a fanboy.

Welcome to the club!

I'm on my fourth Spyderco now and I know my collection will continue to grow. My first Delica should be arriving in the next few days. I can't wait. :D

I, too love the spyder.... I have 2 paras, 1 in D2 and 1 in S30V, and a Smallfly. Truly exceptional knives. I would not recommend the Smallfly for someones first Bali, though. its a little harder to spin than say a 42.

So let me get this straight. You waited forever deciding on whether or not to buy a Spyderco. Then shortly after your first Spydie arrived, you immediately ordered another?

Welcome to Spyderco. :p

Your wallet is toast

Ya you guys are probably right, but once the Delica gets here, one of them will be going back, or atleast thats what Im trying to convince my self.

dude, keep them both. I have never bought the same model knife twice until I got to Spyderco. I have 4 Endura4s.

WOOT and if it feels a bit large now carry it around for a week then rethink it..if you still dont like it then you learned a lesson and set it aside for bigger tasks and get something smaller...but still a spyderco because...well they are pretty darn cool

I know the feeling. The thought of dropping $60 on my Harpy was mildly ludicrous. Now I have 7 Spydercos.

Get the military and EDC it for a week. Go back to the endura and it'll be just the right size for you :). Also, you'll probly end up buying a few militaries, lol.

While you are waiting for your delica try dropping the endura into your left, er offhand, pocket. Leave the clip set up for right sidecarry, so that the knife rides spine forward and point up in your pocket. Now use the wave to draw the knife straight up into a reverse grip. Do that a few hundred times and then just try and send that endura back.

btw. start this slow so that bleeding is minimized;-)>

Well, that's exactly what happened to me 3 years ago. I ordered a D4W and thought "that's it". 12 hours later, even BEFORE recieving the Delica, I ordered a MiniManix to "cover all bases". I thought, "ok, NOW that's it."

The rest is history... and a very expensive hobby... :D

Got my first Spyderco yesterday as well. I had lost an old favourite Schrade stockman and was looking for a replacement. The giant outdoor store didn't have anything like that so I thought I'd try something different.

I ended up with a Ladybug with the serrated edge. Nice and small, good steel and impossibly light. Opened it up in the car and quickly cut the tip of my middle finger. Har, it's a winner! :o I'm a little skeered I'll lose it too so I need to get a lanyard - I know it will fit on my keychain but I've never enjoyed using a knife with keys hanging off the end.
