I'm new to knives, and i don't have a spyderco yet... what should it be?

I know that's kinda vague, but really any answers are helpful.

What's your budget? Also, how large a knife are you looking for? Any specifics or preferences you have would be helpful. In the sub fifty dollar range I like the Tenacious. But for a little over sixty you can get an Endura, which I also love. It all depends on your preferences.

Welcome aboard.

Right off the bat, I will recommend a Delica. Fantastic knife, good size, and it was my first Spyderco. If that is too big, then look into a Dragonfly. If that is too small, look into a Mlitary. ;)
It would be better if we knew what your budget is, and intended use might be.

A lot of people would probably say a tenacious, buy I gotta go with Rev and say a Delica. No matter which you chose, you'll end up with one eventually and it makes a perfect edc. Good price, lots of colors and a FFG blade, you can't lose.

My first Spyderco was a Tenacious...great value, good sized blade. My wife got one of the mid-sized Byrd series - smaller than the Tenacious.

My first Spyderco product was the Byrd Cara Cara2. I wanted to get a idea of how well the blade profile fit my needs with out spending a lot of cash. Ya know what? I own 10 Spyderco knives now. I guess it fit my needs just fine.:D

Out of current line-up I would go with full flat grind Delica. IMHO one of the best quality to cost ratio on the market. Just choose your color. Of cause green is the best.:)

Dragonfly or, if it's within your budget, a Caly 3. The Delica is fine, but I like the other two more.

I started with an Endura4 FFG. My favorite of my Spydies now is my Delica4 FFG. If you're looking for an ergonomic, lightweight, moderate-sized, and very functional EDC knife, the Delica is a great place to start. If you want something smaller, I'd look at the Dragonfly. Something bigger, look to the Endura.

I started with a Bug. Cute little knife, but not the best knife for EDC (although I still always use it since it is on my keychain). I will back up some of the others here that recommend Dragonfly 2 or Endura! Great knives that will service you well!

I would also like to recommend the Bug knife to keep on your keychain alongside any other spyderco you may chose!

I can't believe no one has said Para 2 yet. They are hard to find but not impossible. Or a Manix 2, Caly 3, or Stretch.

The Delica was my first Spyderco, and still my favorite. I highly recommend one!

On the cheaper side, I'd recommend the Delica or the Endura. If you're looking to spend a little more and get a really nice knife, I'd say go for the Southard or the Paramilitary 2.

Hi Humoresque,

Welcome to our forum.

Isn't "Humoresque" the name of a piece of music?
