My first Spyderco arrived today, a D'Allara drop point folder with combo edge.
This is a fine knife, smooth opening and sharp, and will have a place in my EDC rotation for sure. The thumbhole is surprisingly easy to use and provides precise manual opening. I especially like the ball lock, and would probably buy additional Spydercos just for that. Unfortunately as far as I know the only other Spyderco it appeared on was the DoDo.
I own a large number of Kershaws (which I love) and a few Gerbers (not bad), so this Spydie is a nice counterpoint. I'm somewhat spoiled by SpeedSafe and flippers, so it's nice to have a knife that requires a little more coordination to open.
The only ones left for me to try of the big 5 production manufacturers are Benchmade and Buck, and I'll have to get at least one each of theirs eventually...just too many knives, and too little time...
