first steel challenge match I've ever shot- wow lots of fun-

Congrats, Wolf, i've done a few here in AZ and they are fun. If that's your first time, you're doing far better than me.

Unfortunately, this guy, and a few like him, shoot where i do, so the rest of us usually just leave embarrassed...

I've shot this for years. I refuse to use a mouse gun, so I shot it with my full house 10mm, 200gr JFP at 1100 fps. I am the only shooter to officially "kill" a steel target. Broke the weld and it fell over. FUN.

Over here, they don't allow smaller than 9mm and they have some lower limit velocities for each caliber.

I seriously thought about shooting it with my .44 mag, but figured that would just annoy everyone ;)

I can see a 10 being hard on the targets, my buddy wanted to shoot it with his five-seven, and they were worried about it cutting holes in the steel.

yea, the other two guys that we were shooting with us were making us look pretty bad- they both had nice .22 setups with scopes and all that. They got to start in the low ready with .22 vs starting from holster- they would have still been way faster from the holster.

Looks like a good time. Gonna have to see if any of the local clubs do these shoots so I can give it a try.

Interesting, we're not allowed to shoot steel with .22, they consider it a ricochet hazard, not even .32. They do allow .38 special and 9mm on up.

We get about 120-160 participants on any given tuesday night, so makes for waits and such, but it is fun!
