First stock removal knife.

Currently live in an apartment so a forge is out of the question unless I go to my brothers House So I've been doing some stock removal. Curious, I'm just making it because it's fun and something to do, is it really necessary to heat treat if it will never be used for cutting? Or should I go ahead and send it out for heat treatment at some point? It started as an 10 inch 1/4 inch bar of 01 Tool Steel.

Knives cut.
If you don't want to use it as a cutting tool then I assume it will be a wall hanger or show piece.
If that's the case no need to harden it.
