Just (pre)ordered my first survive, it's a 3.5 in 20cv. Got it as a knife that I think will take over most tasks around the camp site that I typically handle with a larger knife.

Hopefully this wait won't be too torturous.

Way to go, TrojanSteel!

I hope the knife finds you sooner than later. Keep watching the newsletters for updates. Good things come to those who wait!

To say that i was on the fence with my first Survive! Knife is an understatement. I finally seen a necker II for sell on there site and bought it. At first i questioned how much use i would get out of it. And not only that but what kind of looks. Now i dont care about the looks. I pull it out for just about everything. I love it and am so happy i bought it. Cant wait for my starters to show up.

Onya buddy! Can't wait to get my first S!Knife. And I agree, a 3.5 looks like it will be a super versatile little blade. Make sure you post pics when you get it!

Congrats on your first Survive! knife Trojan!
Which handle option did you choose?

Thanks Elvcat! Although I'm slightly concerned regarding grip, I got the black g10.... I've read it isn't too slippery.

In my limited experience, I've felt fine with G10 on a smaller knife. There will be some texturing. You won't be swinging your 3.5 like a machete, so in my humble opinion, you'll be fine.

No worries on the G10, it had plenty of grip. People just prefer micarta for larger blades. I have OD Green G10 on my 4.1 and it's awesome.

Yep, Silver Needle is right. I've got Ghost Jade G-10 on my 4.1 and while it's smooth its not slippery. I find it's grippy when its wet too.

Thanks for all the positive comments. Although with this projected wait, I'll probably need to order something else for the interim.

I like your style

To add to my other comment and give you more perspective, I ordered G10 for my starter 4.1, but micarta for my 4.7. I don't ever see myself doing anything "big" with my 4.1, but I may attempt the lightest of chopping and some delimbing with the 4.7.

If you actually use it, you won't be disappointed. A lot of guys here are fanboys.

I guess if I wanted something nice to look at, a knife is way low on the list.

Well said.

Not that I'd have a glass case to display a knife, but I'd get a certain satisfaction knowing that a sentimental blade is in mint condition and not full of wear. Although, tools are meant to be used, right?......

I just jumped into the fray and ordered a GSO 5.0 2nd with two sets of skins as my "first" Survive! I suspect it won't be my last.
