The mail lady delivered my first Swamp Rat a few minutes ago. I rushed it into my office while my wife was walking the dog. Great timing. Anyway, the knife is an M6 and upon cursory inspection, it seems great in every way. I especially like the grips, which are slimmer than those found on my Ontario Tak and Becker C/U7.

The M6 came quite sharp and I don't see a need to touch it up at all.

It is a larger knife than I imagined it would be, but this is not a disappointment. Greater mass. This is always the way for me. Knives, upon receipt, seem always to be larger or smaller than expected.

Pics to follow.

So, what next?

congrats on the knife, i just recently got my first scrapyard and was quite impressed with them as well. As for whats next, use it!

Nice score!

The M6 is a great knife. It's got one of the best feeling grips there is.

What's next? A RMD, of course....A little smaller/lighter, but still a very tough knife.

When heading out to Colorado's back country I tend to prefer something along the lines of an M6, to accompany a smaller Infi Coot. For all other ventures, except short day hikes, a RMD fits my needs nicely.

What I'd like to pick up next would be something along the lines of the original Mean Streets, Leaner Mean Streets or maybe the current Active Duty. I do most of my knife carry under a suit coat, shirt or jacket.I don't know if Swamp Rat makes such a piece but if they did, I'd certainly try to get one.

I certainly like the RMD and the HRLM as well. The Rat Hunter would also seem like a natural for my purposes. I'll keep my eyes open.

Congrats on the new blade!

You may consider the old Rat Tail, a few have sold on the exchange recently. It's a small blade, but would work well for concealed carry under a shirt...
