Got my Ratmandu today....Dont know where to start - I've never owned a knife that felt so good in the hand. It feels very solid - gives you confidence that all the other knives I own dont. Even the Cold Steel Recon Scout - even though its bigger, heavier and longer doenst feel like this knife. Not too big, not too small. Nice work Busse family - looking forward to using the crap out of this one. Just have to wait until the big chopper comes up now :rolleyes:

PS: Man that Busse SAR6 for sale now is pretty much everything I want in a knife - just cant buy a $400 knife and beat the crap out of it.

Heres a shot of the new blade!

After you use the RMD, you will be able to buy and use a $400 knife. It is a gradual progression.

Now go use it!!!!!

Congrats to an fantastic knife Maidenfan! I know the feeling, the RMD is one of the greatest knife-designs in the world. Have one in the same color and love it even more... the more I use it.

Maidenfan,
Congrats on the new RMD. I agree, it feels great in hand and is a solid knife and a excellent value. I have seen some pics where this knife can perform even on bigger task, so give it a good workout with confidence.

Agreed. I read the BF member reviews and just had to order one. They are great blades...........

Awesome RMD:cool::thumbup:
Maybe think about the RMDx LE next:D. It is Awesome too.

The LE is sharp looking, but looks more useful as a fighter than a camp knife. I'm waiting for the "Chopweiler" and a nice 3-4" carver to show up again.

Congrats Maidenfan on scoring an awesome blade :thumbup:
The RMD is one of my favorite users. It wont let you down, trust me.

Took it out for a test run today - good solid knife. My only complaints so far (minor) is the knife wouldnt strike a fire steel due to the coating. I took a screwdriver and worked a little of it off and sparks started to fly, so it was a easy fix. I dont like the small thumb guard on the top - I'd prefer it flat. Anyone have problems with rust once the coating starts wearing off? I live in Oregon and it rains a ton here.

SR101 will rust due to rain, yep. Just make sure to take care of it where the coating has come off, a bit of light oil oughtta do the trick.

Honestly I use strikers for fire steel, as I've been told that fire steel can be hot enough to mess with the heat temper of your blade. Just what I've heard though, take it for what it's worth. :)
