Good afternoon everybody!

I can proudly say that my first every takedown knife is completed! I can't deny that it was a real pain to do it and I underestimated the difficulty of the project. Luckily, a very patient gentleman (fellow member which I shall not name unless he wants to) gave me all the time in the world.

The blade is 4.7" hand rubbed satin finished. The guard, fluted spacer and frame are mild steel. The handle has african blackwood scales along with domed nickel silver pins. The pommel nut is made from an old cartridge.

Prior to the final pictures, I'm going to attach some from along the way.

And here is the final result!

Now that I've completed it, I would have done some things another way to make my life easier, this project involved a lot of trial and error, nonetheless I'm really pleased with the outcome. Definately I will make more takedowns!

All the comments/criticism are welcome!
Thank you for looking!

That's GREAT!!!!!!!! You did a really nice job on that....something that I'd want to have myself.

Thanks Tony,
this one will fit nicely to the other ones

Hi Tony,

As a big fan of takedowns myself, I'd say that's a very respectable first attempt.

Since you asked for comments, I'll offer you this: On my frame handle takedowns, I usually extend a portion of both sides of the frame into slots in the spacer or guard for added strength. :)

Thank you very much TK for the tip, definately will try it on my next frame build!
