First Tappered Tang

Okay I finally broke down and gave tapering a tang a try. Once I wrecked a couple test blades I finally got it. After that it was a piece of cake.

The pic makes the scales look a little off but they are the same thickness.

Specs:
Steel: ATS-34 Mirror Finish
Blade Length: 5"
Overall: 9 5/8"
Bolsters: 416SS - 2000grit finish
Handle: Stabilized Walnut Burl
Pins: All Mosaic

Thanks very much guys.

Keith - When I finally get a better shop setup, ie. outside of my basement I am definitely planning to start forging. It's gonna be a while yet though. Hopefully within the next two years I will be able to start.
