Our first three 25 inch Sirupatis arrived. These models were a collaborative effort by Sanu and Bura. Bura did the handles as you might guess from the photos.

Specs are 25.5 inches overall length. Thickness 1/2 inch. Width 1.75 inches. Weight 1.75 lbs -- a little over an ounce per inch. Fit and finish are excellent. The blade is hardened very well in the chopping area but softens out a little more than I like at tip and toward bolster. I don't see this as a problem but if you try to chop nails with the tip or back of the chopping area you will get a roll. I am a bit surprised at how light this khukuri feels in the hand. Very good balance. The scabbard, frog, karda and chakma are excellent. Karda is over 7 inches in length and very well done -- a neat little knife in its own right.

These three are gone and we have more people waiting but if anybody wants one we will log you in. Dasein is over, shop expansion just about completed, more kamis hired and we are catching up.

Yikes....this one looks like one mean Khukuri. Certainly, I will post a report when I tenderly pick it up for the first time(don't know if I'll faint when this happens, but that is always a possibility and if you feel a 9.9 Richter scale tremor from Canada, relax, its just me...

Uncle, Any chance of making a 30" Sirupati (sword)? I like the slightly wider blade on the sirupati than the Kobra.

Folks, can the MamaBura Sirupati then be said to be ....<drum roll, please>... the mother of All sirupati?

What kind of specs are we looking for in the 30 inch Sirupati? I just might be interested in a mate to go with the 25 incher.

Namaste Uncle.

Work has been keeping me busy of late so I haven't been on much. This 25" is a lovely piece of work.

I've really been enjoying my Bhudhuni, nice chopper. I've managed to clean up the "Made in Nepal" stamping a bit *LL* removed some of the sharp edges.

Hope this won't be a standard on all your pieces as it does detract a bit from the otherwise fine workmanship.

A 30", hmmmmm, interesting thought
