Hi all!
I'm very new to the vintage axe refurbishment game, and I am after some help. I'm looking to purchase an old axe head, a Küllenhahn axe that may have been used in ww2 by german sappers. I want to buy it and refurb it for my dad, but having no real first hand experience doing this, I need some help. It's a 2.78 lbs head, so I'm wondering what size handle I'll need for it to be correct and useable. Also, any other recommendations you may have for a first timer who's also a uni student would be great! What tools I'll need, etc.

Cheers for any help!

Usually the eye size in the head will dictate the range of the axe handle unless you want a custom handle. I would say a 28 inch handle would be good fit for that head. Before you buy the handle you need to see what the eye is like because there are different shapes.

look on YouTube there are plenty of axe refurbish videos.

Many thanks for that, I'll have a look around
