first time Buck owner -- custom 110 birthday gift

Much to my surprise, my wife got me a custom buck 110 for my birthday. The specs are S30v steel with buffalo horn scales and brass fittings. This is my first Buck knife -- I have a small collection of mainly Spydercos. I wanted to drop by this forum and say that I am incredibly impressed with the quality of this knife. The fit, finish, sharpness, lockup, all of it are just top notch. I can't wait to try it out camping.

As for my wallet, I really wish I didn't know about the existence of the custom shop :)

Look on the bright side, in the knife world there are many other places that would cost you a LOT more money than the Buck Custom Shop!

Thanks guys. I have been playing around on the custom builder - talk about the ultimate tempter -- I suspect I was so excited when she gave it to me that this might be a yearly tradition in the making. She pickedthe buffalo horn because that is the grip material on my ruger bisley -- they make quite a nice pair.
 
You know I've been around since 2005 and have never posted pics even though I do like pic threads. I am working today but will see if I can put that together this weekend - time to stop pic mooching.
 
Hey Bamm welcome to the family. You are going to love how that S30V performs. I passed out a few on a hunt last week and I get a kick out of how amazed people are with how long it holds an edge.

I am also very glad the fit and finish was good. We have been training people over the last few years and Value Stream 4, where we make our customs and limited editions, are really taking the quality they put out personally. It is fun to see people take so much pride in what they are doing.
 
bammann45 welcome to the BUCK side of life and a fantastic knife company. If like the custom knifes look into BCCI they put together some nice knives and are a great club.
 
I'm going to give myself the same birthday birthday present next month only I want the nickle silver bolsters, finger grooves, buffalo horn, and serrations. It will be my dress knife.
