Hey, I'm lookin' at getting a folding knife of some kind soon. I have long been collecting and using fixed blades and balisongs...
But now I kinda want to get a nice folder just to toss in my pocket in the morning.
I'm looking for something nice... Below the price of a Chris Reeve preferably (if it HAS to come to that, I may get a Sebenza)
I also would like it to be assisted opening; like a Leek? (My lady has one, and it's pretty cute.)

All opinions are welcome guys...
Thanks.

Benchmade Torrent? Nice-looking folder with assisted opening.

And FYI, I don't know what Benchmade is doing, but there are some outstanding sales prices out there -- at least this past weekend and this week.

If you really want an assisted-opening knife, the Kershaw Leek is a good choice - I'd suggest the G10/S30V leek model personally. However, I'd also suggest giving non-assisted opening folders a look; with the right technique they can be deployed just as fast with a thumb flick. A Benchmade Griptilian or a Spyderco Paramilitary 2 would be worth a look...

HTM DDR Gun Hammer.

Comes in three different blade shapes. Amazingly comfortable handle, great looks.

You really cant go wrong with Kershaw. Especially the Leek. I live mine. A spyderco paramilitary 2 is a good choice as well. Easy to conceal and a great EDC in my opinion.

Griptilian is one of my favorite benchmade designs, particularly the Ritter Griptilian, which has a wider blade and drop point, and S30V steel.

The downside to the Griptilian is that the plastic handle feels cheap. It's durable and strong, but it feels pretty cheap. I ended up making my own handle for mine.

Benchmade 581 barrage, has M390 steel which is amazing, it is very durable and looks good too :), one of my favorites, about $150

AXIS is great. With a little wrist english, you can pop it open AND closed like nothing. Nice and strong too. It's probably my favorite lock out there, except for maybe the Spydie BBL.

You might take a look at the Benchmade 470 Emissary too, its a classy assisted opener.

Benchmade 943 or 940 whichever blade you like better...

YOU WILL THANK ME LATER.

Opens just as fast as assisted. Or damn close. Try it.

the truth is that we're lucky to have so many good blades available, and you likely won't be disappointed with most of them.
