while looking for nick's #78 bolo I came across a russian busse thread:
http://talks.guns.ru/forummessage/5/201919.html

wich has a few random pictures in it, like this one:

fun to scan through, even if you don't speak russian...

Hey, that Jungle Assault picture was croped from one of my pictures!

i think that the thread is a general meandering pictures+news thread. though i don't speak russian, I'm assuming that whoever is posting pictures from bladeforums isn't attempting to take credit for them themselves...

but

That fillet knife is mine. :p

Seriously. Dwayne made that sheath for it.

Cool thread. There were two or three I'd never seen before.

Was the NARK released already as a production run or was it a limited run ganza type knife? I want one!

the cg model I had was pretty tankish. it may look thin, but the half saber grind makes it very thick feeling in the hand. I never got to handle any of the l.e. 1/8" versions.... wait a sec.... I'm gonna go thread hunting and see if the l.e.'s really were 1/8" thick or not...

the 3/16" cg's were crazy thick feeling though.

edit: I think the special bcs narks were 1/8....

That's an interesting thread(at least the pics are)

One of my pics is used (which is no problem)

The thing I think that is funny is the title above this pic

It says "Wooly Behemoth" this is actually just a kydex mock-up of the knife IIRC

:D:D

I get a red x on the Fehrman pic. iirc the same person designed the Behemoth and the Fehrman, and a couple of other makers also made it. The Fehrman is the only one in production, again iirc.

Oh, and the similarities have been covered here many times, its all good now. :)

EDIT: I did a right click "show picture" and it worked. :) Thats the Extreme Judgement, Very cool knife btw, I want one.

EDIT 2: The designers last name is Bachan, more than that I do not know. (great, now I'm channeling YODA!) :o

The NARKs were released sometime before the summer of 2005. I bought one of the Special Presentation versions from the Company Store, which were 0.15" thick. They are very close in overall size to the BATACs.

The SP versions are comparatively rare. I seem to remember there were only something like 3 dozen of them (12 of each color: black paper/green linen/something else?) made.

Thanks for clarifying. I am glad this is not a big deal. Now I really want one of those Behemoths!

Sean Bachan designed the knife and the BEHEMOTH was a 1 off from Busse.

Jerry said he'd never do another because of the amount of grinding involved. Cut into his drinking time I guess. LOL

I bought the knife off Sean 4 or 5 years ago and sold it in early 2007 for what I paid for it. A dumb move perhaps, since I've seen CG SHBM's sell for almost as much lately. Oh well, I'm comfortable with it and NO REGRETS!

Anyway, talking to Sean awhile back about Fehrman, he told me he got design credit and the first one made and was happy with that.

One helluva a design.

Canary, thanks for they info. By the way, what knife is that at the bottom of the pic you posted? Thought it was a Satin Jack at first, but realized it was too short!:D

no, it's a satin jack. it's the .220 LE version of the satin jack tac. they came numbered, satin finished, and with a high saber grind.

I later sold it because I replaced it with a hogsjtacle, which is a considerably larger version all around.

as a basic time line for the badger attack (to explain "3rd gen") -
proto badger (non production)
1st generation - straight handled badger attack (shba)
2nd gen - ergo handled badger atack (bae)
3rd gen - just ba
4th gen - tactical handled badger atack (batac)

First long post says that here are some Busse knifes and some info about them, then they have translated, Bussecombat website and geocites about infi,

Then bunch of reviewing, destruction tests, quetions and answers, I can translate it, it just too much typing and nobody needs it.

I just loved one post by a guy in response to why Jerry (who goes by the name of Jora there) makes so little knifes, it was meant as a joke but they have no idea how close to the truth this probably is.

He said that Jerry probably took marketing courses from "izhmash" (A Russian arms maker, who make AKM's other AK variants as well as some other fire arms)

When the administration of Izhmash is asked why the Saiga is gone from the stores the answer is its war time and we cant make enough to satisfy everybody's wants.

When the workers are asked whys the production numbers are low they say aloofness and alcoholism.

then there are few pages on how to get a jump on you guys when the knifes become available for sale in the skunks store, then there is an offer to get drunk. Then complaints about not able to wait or sleep for that mater until the knifes arrive. Then deleted posts then curses for missing the ganza, and what they are going to do not to miss ganza next time. Then mod says he is going to delete bunch of off topic posts, once again how they are not going to miss the ganza. Then how they got lucky on ganza, due to blind luck...

God damn it, after reading like 10 pages I realize its exactly the same stuff that I read here only in Russian. These knifes do something to people...Or maybe its just the alcohol... I'm not sure if its the knife that makes people drink, and twirl like 10 year old ballerinas in front of their families, or is it the kind of people are are likely to do something like that buy these knifes.

Hmmm.... there was a theory about INFI being a drug... maybe its not only addictive but also has behavioral effectives.
