First Time knife style

I want to make a knife for the first time. Is this a good design or would I be better of doing some premade? I think I am going to use a gough jig to do the bevel if that makes a difference. http://imgur.com/gallery/tDQt6Ep

Look at a image of a drop point hunter and compare it to your sketch. You will notice that your sketch looks blocky in comparison. You need to put a little curvature in the spine and let it drop smoothly toward the tip a tad. Otherwise, your sketch should work.

i think the handle looks good, and you should graft one of the blade shapes stacy posted on to your handle. its a bit too blunt.
