Just finished these an hour ago and the traction on them is MUCH better than the zytel.
They are still a tad rough around the edges, i need to wipe some super glue on them to stop the fraying.
but over all they turned out nice.
Going to make a deep carry clip tomorrow.

Thanks for the kind words fellas ;-)
The only issue so far is the lanyard hole causes the cord to slightly rub the blade :-\
It frayed a little bit already so i probably won't be using it.
The hole was in the liners already so i assumed it would work but i shoulda thought
about it a bit more first.
O well still looks nice.

For a better picture, it looks like you have a very slow shutter rate. Try speeding up the shutter speed, and add more lighting....................(most cameras have this option). A tripod would also do the trick if you don't want to change any options on your camera.

Nice work though, I'm jealous, makes me wanna take a stab at it

I was just using my phone :-P
I can have my wife dig out the good camera though, i have no idea where she stashed it.

It wasnt super difficult, i just used a drill press and a small $39 harbor freight 30" belt sander.
The stuff makes your arms a bit itchy though...... Next time i will use long sleeves ;-)

Well I couldn't sleep so I went ahead and made the pocket clip ;)
I will sand blast it next time I go to the old mans place.
also my wife located the other camera but I forgot that its at least 7 years old.... so photos aren't much better than my phone
sorry for the glare that spot had the best lighting. (busted flash)

I ordered some bronze pivot washers, so after I lap everything, install the washers and round off those
painfully pointy parts on the blade it will be perfect.
I think i will just file the one near the thumb stud completely flush with the blade and replace it with some jimping.
whoever designed this didn't think it through, it really hurts with any amount of pressure......
especially when getting bit pulling your hand out of your pocket :grumpy:

oh and the clip now covers the other side of the misplaced lanyard hole :o

Looks well done, though to my tastes, it looks way better with the original scales. To each their own.

Looks good.
What are the color - coyte Brown?
If yes, im a big fan of scales in that shade.
Some pics in natural light/daylight would be nice - better than both the spot and flash pics.

Nice work - thanks for sharing :)
no problem, and thank you for the kind words.

I also sent an email to your Arizona office about this.( wasn't sure where to send) I figured it couldn't hurt and I would love to see them on a shelf.
I know I would buy a few more ;)

this is the only flaw i couldn't correct properly.
np1gt4.jpg

if this was simply reversed to mirror the other side it would be much less painful. ( it really gouges the thumb)
the only option's I have is to round it off or remove it.

contact me if there is the slightest interest in doing a tactical/defense TI-Lite folder. I can tell you a bit more
about what I did and materials I used if you need that info.
I don't want to get anything out of it, I would just like to see them made this way.

 maybe an OD green along side this coyote brown :D

There are no plans that I know of to change the Ti-Lite. It's a classic (and it's still one of our most popular knives)
I do like the alternative "tactical" look that you have achieved and it's always fun to see how people modify their knives to make them unique.
As with all ideas and suggestions I will forward this to our R&D guys. They may be interested
thanks again

I hope you wore a respirator, that stuff will mess up your lungs big-time.

Looks great. Plan on selling any?

not at the moment,
if i had access to a CNC machine I would. but for now its not worth the time and cost on my end.
also making them with my current harbor freight equipment leaves some imperfections.
I also had to do allot of final fit and finish on the knife itself and this left some marks on the liners.

If i can find a way to do them in quantity I will let you know.

I could make the deep carry pocket clip for the standard model. I had one on it before I made the new one for the new scales.
