This stuff surprised the heck out of me. It was a dark horn, similar to buffalo, until I ground into it. Turned blonde as hell on me quick but, I was really pleasantly surprised. The damascus is a piece of 320 layer 1095 & 15N20 I just recently finished.

J. Is that your own damascus???
I got a Musk Ox tip that is almost the same color.
Tell Little Big Mama HI!!!!

Yep, it's mine. I'm gettting a 25lb Little Giant in a couple weeks to save my arm some troubles.:D Mommas getting grumpy:eek: Watch out!

That is beutifull, the horn realy turned out great, but then I may be baised, horn is one of my favorite handle materials!

J. What a elegant looking piece, i love the handle material, and the damascus sets it of perfectly...great job on the knife, and the pic is awesome too!:D

Are you sure it's Kudu? Most of the stuff I've seen was a lot clearer than that, and had purple streaks. Kudu is also hollow, which is one of the things that made me twig a bit... Could be tip I suppose; never worked that part.

It was more hollow closer to the base but, nothing like spring bok or such. Very thick walled horn but, mine didn't have any purple.

So it was a tip portion? That would explain it then... The last time I used it I wasn't sure whether I liked it or not; it had a real 70's hippie, plastic kinda look to it. And my GOD did it stink :barf: It's still the only material I've ever found that smells like a combination of wet dog and feet.
