First time re profiling a knife

Am I doing it right?

Just got my Shrade SCHF1 and it is dullllllll. The angle was at 35 Deg and was super dull out of the box. I'm trying to re profile to 25 Deg to start with. Taking forever with a lanky coarse stone….

This is how the blade is untouched.



And here is the almost re profiled side at 25 Deg. Notice how the edge gets wider near the tip? Is this normal? Or am I wrecking my knife?

Your edge gets wider at the tip because the steel is thicker there.
 
Looks good.Took forever the first time I reprofiled a stainless knife with my lansky too. After that I went on amazon and ordered the diamond coarse stone and it sped the process up.(10$ I if I remember right).
