Hi guy, haven't posted here in awhile but this is till my favorite area of the forums and the reason I signed up in the first place last year was to ask advice about CRK's. Well I have had my Large insingo 21 for a year now and finally got the courage to take it apart and give it a good cleaning. I followed the instructions posted by Ted and I think I did alright.

Here it is all disassembled.

Cleaned out a years worth of dust and dirt, from all the parts

After reassembling the knife, the lock up looks to be about 50%, not sure If I made a mistake but it opens buttery smooth after oiling the washers.

These are my two favorite knives, I will be cleaning up the Carbon fiber Damascus next.

Those are some nice blades. The Damascus is cool looking, but something about that insingo with micarta just does something.

Just cleaned mine the other day. I made the mistake of not putting enough grease under the washers prior to reassembly, or tightening the three screws incorrectly. This made for very severe blade wobble when unlocked. Finally got it right. Question to you: is your lockup different than prior to your disassembly? If radically altered, you may want to try again. Good luck...;-)

If your stop pin is rotated from where it was before, your lockup could be different. As long as the blade is centered (no pinched washer) and everything is snug, I wouldn't worry. What lube did you use? CRK grease?

Nice set of CRK's you have there!

I don't see any mistakes. I can't go that long without taking mine apart.:)

Don't you love that Micarta Insingo?

Very nice pair of knives you have! I love taking care of my 25..I break it down about every other week,anal,yes..

Hmmmm… I cleaned mine 8 months ago upon receiving it. Perhaps 1 year sounds like a good time.

They're awesome users. :D

Well I'll be maintaining it more regularly now, What got me to do it was cutting into some steak and then noticing some fat lodged in the lockup lol. The lock up looks to be the same after reassembly and I did use the CRK grease. That's one awesome picture Dantone, better than I could get on my silly Samsung tablet.

Good job. I have yet to take my CRK apart. I like watching others do it tho. I was thinking about just waiting for it to get dull then send it to CRK and they can do a full service while I sip coffee. :)
