OK, I got my first SOG - an Auto Clip. Is there supposed to be a spring in the clip, or just the adjustment wheel? I thought it was supposed to be a spring clip, and the wheel adjusts the travel in the spring. When I open the wheel, the clip kind of jiggles around loosely.

I personally have never handled one:o , but I believe the wheel adjusts the tension with no spring. The wheel allows you to lock it on to your pocket, etc. Thus if it isn't locked there would be some play!

Edited for attrocious spelling...:o

About the Autoclip...
Yes, there isn't any spring that works the clip. Instead the tension is created by simply turning the wheel either clock wise or anti-clockwise to tighten or loosen the hold of the clip.

Also, one is advised to tighten up the clip in the event the knife is in use. Left in a wide open gape, the clip may sustain a possible damage or maybe leave room for a "band aid session".

Personally, it works fine for me. And I especially like the fullness in the palm of the hand, due to the inherited bulk at the butt end of the Autoclip. It really makes good for a reverse /icepick grip.

If there was room for an improvement, I would suggest some slight body in the mid section of the handle, a diamond checked grip pattern and a dual sided finger guard instead of the present single finger choil layout.

I hope this answers some, and hope you return to tell us about your next SOG-K purchase soon.
