I got some tek-loks along with an order for my esee-3mil-s to use for a horizontal carry configuration along the small of my back. I wanted to use the HEST but I am not sure the holes line up unless I remove the screws that are already in the kydex.

Does anybody have any experience with this situation? Any tips or pics would be appreciated and rewarded with Internet Points and :jerkit: ...........seriously I'll do it.

i asked the same question a couple months ago. you have to remove one of the existing screws in the hest sheath in order to use a tek-lok

So if I'm looking at the back of the tek-lok with the holes and I place the kydex sheath blade down, handle to the right I should unscrew the top right screw and screw that through the tek-lok and then add a regular screw threw the hole to the left?

Will this keep the kydex sheath tight enough to keep the knife in? The sheath would practically hide the tek-lok and fit great on my belt.

I read the instructions and it said not to remove the 3 screw, that it could be moved down one to increase sheath tension should it loosen over time.....didn't know how adding the tek-lok would play into that.

Pictures coming, gimme 5.

edit: Here's how I set mine up -

Gotta say, didn't much like mounting Tek Loks because they end up to either one side or the other of a knifes' line of gravity. With the HEST, due to it's size, the Tek works great. Planning on cutting some leather and doin' some fab-bing this weekend with my 3.

If you just popped in here out of curiosity and now you're bored, here's a pic of my kayak in my living room -

So you use paracord to lash the tek-lok to the sheath for a vertical carry?

I'm looking to do a horizontal carry on the small of my back with the handle facing right, tek-lok around belt and knife screwed into sheath.

I think I can figure it out, but if anybody has any tips to help me I'd appreciate it. I'd consider doing a vertical carry if I was lashing it to a strap on a shoulder bag.
