First time wanting to buy

I think they are definitely worth it.

You’re going to get a lot of the same answers here in the CRK forum.

I think my Inkosi is worth it, but depending on what you’re looking for YMMV.

It’s a great knife, with great build quality, and the warranty/support at CRK is second to none. I have a difficult time carrying anything else because they’re built like a tank and CRK sells replacement parts (including blades) if I end up messing something up. I also take a lot of pride knowing that I have a well made knife with me.

That being said, here’s some things to be aware of:
All my CRKs are smooth, but there has been a break in period with every one of them. Mine don’t drop shut by any means but they open and close smoothly.
Some people hate the thumb studs. I’ve never had an issue, but some people do.
Sharpening them takes a little bit of a learning curve depending on how you sharpen because they use a convex grind.
Service times can be long, but CRK will take care of you when it’s your turn.
CRKs are addictive. I bought my first one and thought that would be it. Little did I know.

If you’re on the fence, I’d pick up a used one from the exchange and if you don’t like it, you’ll be able to get most of your money back when you sell it.

I have three of them. Its probably the most solid folder I've ever held.

If you don't like it you can always get your money back.

“Worth”….totally subjective to each individual. For me, a lightly used, older, well taken care of Inkosi bought off the Exchange at a nice price reduction is much more worth it to me than one at retail price. Regardless of how you choose to purchase one, it’s a super nice knife! I hope your wife heals quickly!
