Hey Guys...

I've borrow a set of Ray Mears videos from a friend today...
although I've seen bits and peieces of his show,, I've never really watched an Episode...

These seem to be documentaries rather than pure survival videos, but they are Wonderfully done,, and I could Barely pull myself away from them.
I watched the African DVD today, and it was fanscinating...

I've got a lot of Ron Hood's videos, and they are still my Go to videos for survival..

I haven't watched enough of Ray Mears to see if he gets into the Nitty Gritty of wilderness survival like Ron's videos do...

However I've seen enough to know that Ray's videos are Very well made (larger production budget with a entire crew of people), not to say thats Ron's aren't..
I like Ron's style for sure...

I would suggest that anyone interested in Wilderness survival,, you knowledge isn't complete without Both of these sets of videos,, Ron's and Rays..

Looking forward in watching more tomorrow..

There are several different series. One of them is pure survival where he takes some real life survival event and basically walks you through it talking about how they survived and how you could do better. Other times he just goes rafting or camping and it is basically about being in the outdoors. He usually is really well equipped though he often does primitive work like friction fire starting.

Cliff...

Yaa haven't got into it enough yet..
The video I'm watching right now is about making bows, arrows and cordage with Prim tools..

I'll get back to this thread after I've watched a little more...

If you watching the Bushcraft series, then that is more about the "feeling" than about the details of the techniques. And i agree that they are well made, that "feeling" comes over when i watch them. They made me "homesick" for the woods.
